Alumni from the 1956-1978 Stan Kenton Orchestras come together to tour the United States annually, to entertain and educate and keep the Stan Kenton Legacy alive. The 19 piece band includes some of the finest young jazz players around, along with the Kenton alumni. You'll hear some of the well-known music of the Stan Kenton Orchestra, along with fresh new material written in the Kenton Style. Leader Mike Vax has led a big band, off and on for the past 45 years, and his credits include being first trumpet, soloist and road manager of the Stan Kenton Orchestra.
